The Coffee Wars - Competing Campaigns
I recently spotted this ad campaign by Starbucks on a bus kiosk. I thought it was a nice use of typography (I am a huge fan of the slab serif) and a good play on the organic look. But as I delved deeper into the messenging I found out that these posters are in response to some ad campaigns by the competition - McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts who have been eating into Starbucks share of the market as well as capitalizing on heightened cost savings.
